Core of the Core
Alumni Discussion Group
This discussion group is intended for alumni who miss the analysis and stimulation of classes like Human Being and Citizen and the timeless works encountered there. It is a cross between a class and a book club, where members of the group read portions of great works and gather together to exchange insights and thoughts.
The group began meeting in March 2018, and covered works from The Iliad to Augustine’s Confessions in the first series.
This is our final meeting of this series and is our potluck discussion in which participants are asked to talk about a favorite writer or work that they would like others to know about. If you have ever been in a setting where you have wanted to wanted to talk about a certain writer or work, but held back because you suspected the social occasion was not quite right, this is your moment.
If you are interested in coming, please contact Bill Funk, AB’93, at email@example.com for more details on the readings and for any other questions you have.
