Connecting the Curious | Enhancing Life: Death, Dying, and the Future

Join fellow alumni for this AlumniU Connecting the Curious seminar beginning, Monday, October 23, for a deeper look into UChicago’s Enhancing Life Project.

How can we forge a future that enhances life and supports the sustainability of Earth’s systems? Join UChicago alumni and top researchers from the University’s Enhancing Life Project to discuss ways that we can improve the human experience as it relates to death, dying, and the future. For the past two years, the Enhancing Life Project has worked with 35 scholars from around the world and across disciplines to ask the question: How can we enhance life? This seminar, moderated by William Schweiker, PhD’85, the Edward L. Ryerson Distinguished Service Professor of Theological Ethics, will explore the research of six scholars from the project and present their key findings on the strategies, social mechanisms, spiritual practices, and technologies most valuable to this topic.

  • Watch interviews with the project researchers.
  • Ask and discuss questions with Schweiker.
  • Consider real-world problems through an interdisciplinary lens.
